I am trying to set up the SIMPLEST of key commands.
All i want to do is set up a single key stroke to zoom in and out....NOT HORIZONTIALLY but vertically.

I must have wasted an entire hour looking for this in the key command menu, only to end up with nothing.

Can anyone help me. It should be a NO - Brainer !

Any help is greatly appreciated,

CTRL-SHIFT up/down arrows. Timeline must have the focus.

Jet,
I it does not work for me! I dont know why, but the key combo you gave me did nothing.

Can i assign the zoom in and out to keys that I CHOOSE?

Please tell me yes.

Nuendo and many other DAW's do this with insane ease, i seem to be loosing this battle with V5.

The TIMELINE must have the focus for those keys to work but they DID work here on a standard Vegas 6 installation. Try clicking on the timeline and using the CTRL-SHIFT-Up Arrow and CTRL-SHIFT-Down Arrow.

You can change whatever keys you want to whatever function you want. Just go to Options - Preferences - Keyboard tab. Now select the desired keys and assign them to the desired function. In your case, type in "Trackview.Zoom" in the "Show only commands containing" box to narrow your search.

NOTE: The CONTEXT box must be changed to "Trackview" and the track MUST have the focus for the key to work.
