Key Input Gate For Vegas? How?

Hello,

I'm looking for a way to key the input of a gate with another track using Vegas. I have no clue how to do this and I consider it to be of paramount importance.

For example, I'd like to have the option of of gating the room mic and triggering it with the snare top to theortically add only room sound to the snare.

This is not the only trick, but one of many that I'd like to use.

At the moment I have Waves and Sonic Foundry Plugins. I'm using Vegas 3.0c. (never saw the need to upgrade).

Thanks
Brandon

That's a start. The upside is that it seams to be a way of pulling this off. The bad side is I'd have to use a seperate buss everytime I used this trick.

I'll give it a shot. It seams fairly complicated, but I'm sure when I fire it up, it won't be that bad.

that may make it slightly more palatable

one chance to do it easily though is the db audioware dbdynamics processor which has its own control signal sidechains

Oh okay. That makes total sense. This is easy!
