Can a key be mapped to zooming the timeline? I mean zooming in and zooming out. The plus and minus keys would be ideal for this and do not seem to be mapped to anything else in the timeline window.
The up and down arrows already do this. However, the current keyboard focus has to be on the timeline. If the up and down arrows do something different, click anywhere in the timeline window and now they will zoom.
Oops, I should have done my homework better! Those keys are even better than + and - as they are closer to the front of the keyboard. Thanks for the info!

I would love to move the zoom of the up and down keys to another shortcut but when I go to keyboard shortcuts and click to see where the up and downs are located and what their current short cuts are? I get nothing. Strange. Pushing up or down does make it zoom in and out like the mouse wheel does but I cannot find any short cuts for these. Any clues would be awesome. I'm baffled. Tried everything searching through all short cuts. David
@david-ruby - From SIXTEEN Years ago?!? - Wow.... OK, I'm lost in trying to understand what you're after. Please try again.
LOL. Yep. Actually I was around when sound forge started this whole thing up. Ok I am just trying to take the arrow keys (up-down) and move the commands to zoom in and zoom out that you can achieve with your mouse scrolling wheel or the up and down keys to another set of keys for a short cut I used to use in vegas. Simple enough I am just trying to make new short cut keys for what the up and down arrows do. I go into customize keyboard and click on short cut keys then push the up button to see what the short cut is applied to and I get nothing. Does not show it is attached to anything but when I press up or down on the timeline it zooms in and zooms out. I even tried the "Show commands containing" and found nothing tied to the up and down arrow keys.
