Keyframe Hold not working

nihil wrote on 5/24/2004, 10:21 AM
Hello,

Recently I was finishing up a picture montage I started in Vegas 4.0 and finished in Vegas 5. Upon rendering in v5 I realized that the Pan/Crop keyframes I had created and marked as "Hold" were not holding.

Instead of the Pan/Crop values jumping from setting to setting as the timeline progressed, they smoothly flowed from one setting to another. In fact in some basic testing I could not see any difference whether a keyfram was a Smooth, Fast, Slow, Linear or Hold.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Will there be a fix for it soon?

Thanks

Jesse

nihil,

Just discoverd that problem myself last night (the first time I tried pan/crop in V 5). My "holds" don't hold either. They appear to act like Linear keyframes.

This must be a rare bug (ie, affects only certain installs?), or massive amounts of folks would have posted this already.

I'm at a loss...

Same problem here.
Add to that, in my case trying to select a keyframe, the cursor will land to the left or right of the keyframe, just never on it, unless I'm zoomed right in.
Sometimes I can never drag a keyframe to quite where I want it either.
I can't be more specific as I'm not typing this from my Vegas machine.

Alistair,

I'm having trouble selecting pan/crop keyframes as well, just as you described. Unlike V 4, in V 5 I must zoom in pretty much all the way in order to select correctly.

it has been posted here - several times and is in the bug "report and workaround" thread ...

for "hold"

put a hold keyframe at the begining and end of each section you want keyframed , the end one would be one frame before the next keyframe..

Same problem here, I think this is a general bug...

Well I guess I'm kind of a lucky one since until I read this thread I never even knew there WAS a HOLD feature for keyframes and have been using the method described by BJ_M through 3 versions of VV now - DOH !!!
