AE 6 has a beatmapping feature that allows keyframes to be created to the beat of audio, very useful for music videos, amongst other things. Does anyone know of way to do this in Vegas without manually adding keyframes on the beat?
The AddMarkersAtInterval script will add markers to the first beat of every measure when you have the Ruler set to Beats & Measures.
You must know or calculate the BPM yourself and set the Project Properties to the correct BPM.
Acid's Beat Mapper will help you find the BPM or you can use a formular based on the sample rate;
Using 44.1kHz (sample rate) and 4 beats per measure the equation would be;
44100 (sample rate) x 60 (seconds/minute) x 4 (Beats/measure) = 10584000 divided by (number of samples in selected audio) = BPM
EDIT; Actually you don't need the script, you can set the ruler to Measures & Beats, set the grid to say Quarter notes then use Page Down to move to the next grid mark and set your keyframes.
