It's probably the smoothness setting - defaults at 100, but for direct A to B movement it needs to be Zero. Also right click keyframes and check they are set to Linear.

I've got Gary Kleiner's DVD set of tutes for V5, he goes into great depth on the various "results" obtained from these settings. I've been "Gotcha'ed" several times when I've forgotten too! Might be useful if you did a test and "layer" sort clips of the same clip - one over the other - with the various settings so you can get an idea too! But once learnt, these are very powerful and yet subtle adjustments you can make.
