Keyframed audio effects?

Hello,

I'm not sure this can be done, but can one apply an audio effect in much the same way video effects are keyframed along the timeline? More specifically, let's say I want a pitch shift here and there, but not for the entire track - can I do it without chopping up the media and using the effect on each segment?

I believe if you apply the effect to the track, you can choose "FX Automation" and adjust all or some of the tracks audio effects via an envelope. The button for this is at the top all the way to the right (in V7). I think it only effects the amount of the effect you apply and won't change the effect parameters. But you could probably fade from one effect to another by applying the effect twice with different settings and using two envelopes to fade from one to another. Unfortunately, Pitch is not one of the effects that work with automation.

I have not experimented with this at all but would be interested to hear (pun intended) how it works for you.
