Keyframes

Editguy42 wrote on 4/18/2008, 11:03 AM
I have a kinda weird question, it seem that my Keyframes controller functions have dissapered from my Video FX and other Dialog boxes, I do not use them very often but if they are gone I cant use them at all. Is it possible to turn them off and on and if I did i do not know how I did it. Can any one help with this.

BTW, I love vegas I use Vegas Movie Studio 8 Platinum, and I am planning to upgrade to Vegas Pro 8 soon.

Hi Editguy,
Grab the bottom of the Video FX window and drag it down to make it longer, then you will see a thin gray line about an eighth of an inch from the bottom, hover over it until you see two parallel lines, then click and drag it up until they return. You should just be able to double click on the blue header on the top of the window, and that should automatically resize the window to see all the controls.........but that doesn't always work :O Let us know if this helps. my question about why does that happen was a serious question. what I was asking was, why does the controller dissapear? and I never saw an answer fro Chienworks so how can one be better then the other,
If you all are here to make fun of user questions than I guess I will find somewhere to ask and learn.

These people know eachother very well, and it's just an inside joke. The community on this forum is kind and respectful, so don't run away right now.

The reason why the keyframes disappear is basically bad programming. Call it a bug.

Thank you for the reply, I appriciate it. I am not a novice user but I am a novice forum user,it will take a while to get to know everyone. I do look forward to many helpful threads, and I hope to be able to help someone.
I use vegas to edit old 8mm film and VHS / Hight 8 tapes to DVD for clients and hope to gt into more movie making adventures as time goes on. We have been in business for 4 years and I made the move from Pinnacle studio to Vegas 2 years ago.

MAN what a big difference it made, I also have Avid Liquid :( any way thanks for the help so far (sorry that I got a little bent)

Are you kidding me?? Who was making fun of you? What post are you reffering to? How could we have worded it any differently to make you feel better about your experience here? I hope you will reread the post in the light that it was written in. Cin
PS. Sony has a form you can fill out to report a 'bug', and you may want to consider doing so, as I think most people feel that is one.

I read this reply and Assumed (of course we all know what assume means) and thought a snide remark was being made at my expense, in regards to my previous post as to why the keyframe controller dissapears. I should have worded it as "do they dissapear when you dock them in the tab area or is it just random. that is what I was asking. when i read the other post and they said

< maybe a better answer than I gave> which they never gave an answer I thought that my question was being made fun of.
But if that is or was not the case than fault is on me for assuming the worst.

So again I apologize for the misunderstanding and look forward to other posts.

Hello Editguy.

My apologies for the confusion. I wouldn't make fun of any question posted here. However, that doesn't mean we don't have fun in this forum. I think you'll come to find that we're not only a highly motivated group in this forum, but also very friendly and relaxed too.

My comment was referring to an exchange between Cin and myself back in February over another display issue that has a simple fix, but we don't know the reason why it works. Cin asked me "why?" and i responded "i don't know". That caused some more light hearted and amusing discussion afterwards. You can read it here ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=12&MessageID=577092 if you'd like.

Welcome to the forums and feel free to ask anything. Generally some will come up with an answer for you and we'll all enjoy helping each other out. :)
