sure. just double click on the pan/crop time line or change an attribute to set a key frame.

But I can't the video to play back in the timeline.

Right now I'm playing back on the main timeline, dropping markers where I will set a keyframe. Then open the pan/crop window, ctrl-arrow to the next marker, click on the pan/crop timeline to add a keyframe and ajust pan/crop as needed, then activate the main window, ctrl-arrow to the next marker, etc. I would be a lot easier to be able to do it all in the pan/crop window.

i thought the play head in the pan/crop moved when it's synced & the TL is playing. Guess it doesn't.

You can move the head in the pan/crop by scrubbing it. it's almost the same as the playback.
