I have had a little hdtv set up for editing ,but not tv viewing,, finally got my cheap self to a big box store and bought a 42 “ lcd for the family room,, yeah slowly becoming a 21st century guy.. I am amazed at how much programming is still sd, I really thought that by now most everything was hd,, settled in to watch a pre season football game last night,, SD huh!!! Gotta say pbs was looking great, and the z1 stuff is incredible ,but man, I thought I was the only one left in town without a hdtv…. Guess I was wrong. I live in a midsize market and realize may be slower than the huge markets.. but very ,very surprised

There is HD programming available, though you have to pay extra for the decoder box and such. But even still the vast majority is SD.

I have tv through my phone line (as opposed to cable) and we can even get HD through the phone.... I haven't bothered because in my area they only offer all of 8 or 9 HD channels.
