I used Koolmoves a long time ago - it's pretty much a GIF animator for the web - vegas will probably except what you export from Koolmoves but I doubt it will look good. Not sure if it supports Alpha channel in exports
Meanwhile, I went onto the Kool Moves site to download the free trial, and my virus software flagged me that the site was dangerous and not click on it.
Do you think think that it is risky to download from that site?
Okay, Andrew, I did the download, but it's the usual demo story. Save is disabled, so how am I supposed to get a file into Vegas to see if it flies. I tried a few things, and I got for my trouble was a message that I could only open files with fun extensions. i don't know what they are and I have no idea how to make one.
If you're out there some where would you be so kind as to tell me how to make and import into Vegas, the word Vegas with the fx of your choice applied to it. If one will work I assume they all will work. Make it big, like 60 pt. or better.
Anything you can do will be more than appreciated. I simply want to see that the basic features will work before I spend my wife's hard earned money.
Thanks much,
Bill
P.S. Assuming that I (or rather you) can get one of these files into Vegas, can the Vegas color controls etc. be applied to them?
You need to export from koolmoves as an swf and then add that to your Vegas project. The only limitation is that you can't use any scripting as Vegas can't read it.
Although .swf files are fully scaleable, I usually make my Koolmoves movie the same pixel size as my project so that I get the aspect correct.
Vegas sees swf files just a any other format, so you can apply any filters or transitions to them.
