Now I'm curious so I'll ask. What are "L" and "J" audio edits, anyway. I seem to have totally missed something along the way........please explain further.

An L edit is where the sound from clip "A" continues behind clip "B" after the video has already transitioned. A J edit is the reverse, in which the audio transitions first and then the video afterwards. If you think about the shape of the letter L and J if it had a straight bottom you should see why they have these names.

Probably the simplest method is to click the Ignore Event Grouping button in the toolbar, adjust the position of the audio edits separately from the video edits, then unclick the button again.

Be sure to turn off auto-ripple when doing j- and l-cuts. And watch out not to hold ctrl key while you adjust/move events.
