Lack of Audio

Audio question -

Using M-Audio DUO - USB box with 5b and can't record audio with video. If I arm a track and record directly to timeline this procedure works. Win 2000 setup sees the audio setup, but when I try to capture using VidCap the audio option is grayed so nothing is getting through and no waveform is drawn. The appropriate parameters reflect the M-Audio option. HELP!!!

You can't record analog audio along with digital video and keep it in sync. The only way to do this is capture video, then recapture audio if you want to use the USB box. USB sucks for audio, and is slow.
Why aren't you using a standard A to D converter to get the analog in?
