Lagging!

I'm reaching out to ask if you have any advice on how I can1) stop Vegas Pro 15 from lagging when I'm editing with 4K 24fps files and 2) why won't Vegas take my MOV files? I get an error message when I attempt to import them. My solution is to convert ALL of my files to MP4 -- I shouldn't have to do that. I have Vegas Pro 15 on my laptop and never have to convert any video files.

I use an OMEN HP Desktop 875 -- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700 CPU@ 3.2 GHz -- 16 GB RAM and GE Force RTX 2070 SUPER Graphics Card.

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Be sure you're on the NVIDIA Studio Driver (not gaming). Keep the file I/O tab in preferences at default settings unless you have a specific problem to fix.
