Laptop for Vegas: Update

HP have just upgraded the Pavilion 9000 series recently discussed. The new dv9500z can come with the 2.3MHz Turion, 4 GB Ram, GeForce Go 8400GS and 64-bit Vista with disk. HP says the unit will play 1080p no problem, but still the same 1440x900 glossy display(?) or a cheaper WXGA+ 1680x1050.

(DELETED:Also note that the Vegas8 specs call for a 2.8GHz processor (HDV) and this will make finding a top laptop harder.) Bob has pointed out my error here.... please IGNOR

Don't forget, the 2.3 Turion is a dual core processor. Should do much better than a 2.8Ghz single core.

I'm looking along the lines of the form factor used by the Shuttle PC.
You can find cases that even have handles on them.
Not a laptop, but less expensive and better performance.

I bought an HP HDX last month. I love it except for the fact that the one I got has an HD DVD drive and now you can get them with a combo Blu-ray / HD DVD drive (that they call a Blu-ray drive). If only I had known! :-(

Ordering the memory this way is a fraction of the price that it is if you order it with the PC.

I have 4 meg 'cos I got the Vista 64bit version with 4 meg and the 2.4. Only problem the memory is the slow link. Only 4.8 on the Windows scale. What are your score? I might upgrade memory at this price.

My memory score is 4.8 as well. My lowest number is the hard disc score of 4.7. I'm not really worried about this since I use external drives for video anyway.
