Laptop Recommendations?

I need to get hold of a new laptop for running Vegas and I'm just starting my research.

Will be editing SD DV for now then HDV from November.

I fancy a big wide screen and if it can fit a 2nd hard disk internally then that would be cool and save me from firewire headaches. Don't know if this is a common feature though.

Any recommendations?

Thanks, Nick

Personally, I recently bought a an Acer Travelmate 8200 for around $2K. It's a dual core 2.0GHZ, 2GB Ram, 120G HD (not as fast as I'd like, 5400RPM, but upgradable), and has a nice, hi-res widescreen.

I especially like the screen for editing as it's non-glare and a slightly less bright that some of the 'tanning machines' that are popular these days...

We'll be reviewing it on my technology video podcast, www.neo-fight.tv, on May 29th. Come and take a look..

Best,

Benjamin

Go to the Dell site and look for the outlet center. I've already seen some dual core laptops offered. I bought a top of the line 9300 model last December for 1k.....an awesome deal and the computer came like new. You have to follow the site regularly because the computers are always coming and going.
