Last-minute NAB questions

I decided that I'd attend NAB this year for the first time. Before I ask my question, I wanted to thank the SoCal Vegas Users Group for their VIP reg link that saved me a lot of money versus the full registration price.

I'm wondering what Vegas-related events and general video and audio editing events will be happening. The two I know of are (a) the Monday evening reception at the Paris hotel, and (b) the Vegas 5 hands-on classes (which I don't know when and where they are happening). Does anyone know of any others, social or otherwise, that might be of value?

I'm also interested in any HDV and Hi-Def DVD hardware and software seminars, as well as anything related to GPU acceleration for any apps (editing, compositing or otherwise). If you can point the way to these, I'd appreciate it.

Obviously there'll be a ton to see and do both at NAB and outside, and I hope to meet the Sony folks and some of you.

National Association Of Broadcasters
The trade show

And just a thread here that I started with some Sony related (or lack of Sony Vegas related) press that was out there. http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=266999&Page=0

There is not only the Vegas users gathering on Monday, but there is the VASST breakfast on Wednesday morning, and the Digital Cinema Society bash Tuesday, April 20th, from 6-9PM at Caesar's Palace in the "Emperor's Ballroom, 4th Floor. There are of course, dozens of other events taking place too, but these are the ones that we're working with.
We'll be giving away various VASST Training DVDs at the Digital Cinema party, and at the breakfast.

We look forward to seeing you there.
