It appears that a variety of the latest mobos and BIOSs have a seemingly serious issue with latency. Reading through some of it I found DPC Latency Checker. You can download it from here.

Haven't a clue how relevant this might be to some of our current woes and I haven't as yet tried it on my latest system. I guess it can't do any harm running the test.
