I started a Cineform captured HDV Z1 project with Vegas 9 (I am slow) and assimilated into Vegas 10 then Vegas 11. V11 rotated all the zooms 90 degrees(2200 x 2200 jpgs) and I had to redo all of them. V11 also set all the sound levels to "0" and I redid them also. Everything looked good except for a few jiggles on the Z1 video during pans. Rendering to NTSC widescreen/Bluray removed the jiggles which were even visable in auto/preview mode. However after rendering/ burning about 5 of the zooms had some small jerks in them but they were small. I assume I should have deleted the jpg and redone the zoom. There were some mov's, many FX's and older junk in this project that came out ok. All the text was with the old legacy titler. The NTSC size was 2.6 gig and the Bluray size was 11.4 gig. DVD A 5.2 did recompress the AC3 studio audio but performed without a hitch. I did notice that the Bluray audio render seemed to expand the dynamic range a bit.
I am not complaining but just happy everything came out alright for a non-critical family event.
