layouts

Guys,
I've been so buys editing and rendering I've had no time to play with layouts. I brezzed via the manual for 7 but unfortunately I cannot see to find how to re-organize my layouts.

I went to the project propeties and got everything to the top BUT
cant the trimmer also be docked horizontally above the work area.
Sharing the trimmer with all the other windows stinks.

I thought this was part of the package?

Options - Preferences - Display

Check "Dock windows at top . . ."
Check "Position tabs at top . . ."

The tabs help avoid dragging media to the timeline over a tab in the top positioned setup.

I think part of the prob is that the Video preview is always vertically centered.

I cant get it to float at the top.

You can always grab it by the small line of dots at the upper left to undock and drag it anywhere you'd like. As well as resizing the screen to your liking by grabbing and dragging the edges.
