LCD calibration in Vista

This is a very complicated thing by itself, and gets even more with different handling of colourspace by various applications. I sort of managed to master my 24" 1920x1080 panel, in that what I'm getting after rendering in Vegas is more or less what I expected (in that it's almost the same to the vibrant and reach colour I'm getting by displaying direct from the camera via component input).

But in Vista x64 Ultimate, everything is quite different than under XP. I can't get the same desktop colours, not to mention the preview window in Vegas! Everything seems dull and washed-out... It's the same hardware, so there must be a way of software calibration - any hints?
