leaning to CRAWL

This is a very helpful forum! Great to be here!

Being new to Vegas, there are some basics I haven't quite figured out yet. It's really cool there a built in "automatic" credit roll feature, but how do you crawl? i.e., have text crawl accross the screen continueously? I don't see a way in the text roll to change from top/bottom or bottom/top to left/right or right/left. There must be a simplier way than with mulitple events and key frames.

Also, been using the free trial of 6, but have a 4 book, which does not even mention the trimmer. How do I use the trimmer?

Several folks are using the "text placement" feature in the text generator to do crawls. Keyframe this to get a crawl. You can also do much the same thing with the Track Motion tools.

Not exactly a crawl, but here is what I use.

members.cox.net/orcatek/ticker.veg

Basically its a credit roll that enters from the right and exits on the left.
