Length of video and audio don't match on timeline

I imported video clips which were in format MOV 1920 x 1080, 24p, 72Mbps All-Intra (Panasonic GH3) which play ok in Windows Media player. When I place the clips on the timeline, the video and audio are synced until the audio finishes but the video freezes the frame at the point the audio finishes and continues to show that frame for around another 60 seconds on the video track. There is nothing under it on the audio track. I've never seen this before but I usually use AVCHD files. Can anyone tell me how to fix this please

Is there audio that is supposed to be there that is missing?

If not, simply trim the end of the clip back to match the end of the audio.

All the audio is there. The trimming does the trick but why does the clip present itself on the timeline with that extra video bit? Is it because of the MOV format. If it is, I think I will go back to avchd. Also, is there an easy way to automatically trim all clips.
Thanks
Margaret

Don't drag and drop from Windows Explorer. That is what is causing your problem.
Use the software that came with your camera or Device Explorer in Vegas

I've tried all these ways, but the clips are no different. It's only in Vegas that it's a problem (with Movie Studio and Pro 12). Is it the MOV format that's causing the problem do you think?

System specs and OS?
Quicktime version?

Really, I think it's a cut point from the camera that didn't match the GOP. If my two suggestions don't fix it, try "quickstream fix" in Videoredo TV Suite.

Still haven't figured out why this is happening and have asked Sony Tech Support. I am working round it by trimming the video and making it a subclip but it takes time to do that. If I convert the mov file to mp4 for in lightroom example, both audio and video match. But the whole point about using the mov file was to have a better quality. I will post sony's answer if I can manage to get a sample file to them through their support site.
Thanks for your replies. Very much appreciated
