Letterboxing in Vegas Video

PiercedOne wrote on 11/26/2000, 2:51 PM
Hokay, maybe I'm being a 'tard. I'm fairly new to Vegas,
but I'm up against a deadline, and don't have the time to
exhaustively try every dial, widget, button and thingy in
the software. Is there any quick, easy way to letterbox a
project at 1.85:1 in Vegas before rendering it, or am I
going to have to take the entire etinking thing into After
Effects? (groan)

Let me know.

Thanks.

Hi Bryn -
The only way I know how to do this in Vegas is to use the Pan Crop
command on a parent track and set the aspect ration to 1.85:1.
You can create an empty parent track and add a Solid Color Generator
to the length of the project in that track which will allow you to
see all of the child video tracks. Then choose the pan-crop tool for
that solid white track and crop it to 1.85:1 (in the preset drop-down
box)

feel free to email me at charles@cdmstudios.com if you have any other
questions.
