All my applications recognize my LG GGW-H20L but I rarely use any of them to burn a disk.

Burn an .iso or DVD folder and use ImgBurn to burn the hard media.

Haven't had a problem with Vegas recognizing a drive for many years. I have the same LG that John Dennis has plus two Sony Blurays.

I don't know the model number but I have no problems with my LG except that DVDA 5 will only burn at 2x speed with 4x BD-Rs

Works fine with ImgBurn on BD and DVDA 5.2 with DVD's.
Not tried to burn BD from DVDA.

I have the same problem with LG model BH10LS30. Burns for Win 7 64 Windows Explorer when copying files to it, but not DVDA Pro 5.2 or VP10d 64bit.
I've tried suggestions from googling the problem including: deleting the "Upper Limits" with regedit, MS's DVD/CD online fixer, unchecking "use legacy disc drivers" in DVDA Preferences/Burning.

Still, when I click to detect it from Multimedia Devices VP & DVDA go into deep freeze. Old Philips PATA DVD burner works fine.

Considering ebaying it & getting Pioneer BDR-206DBKS. Anyone use that one?

No problems here, LG Blu-Ray, and Plextor, both VP10 and DVDA recognize easily.
