License transfer

I have a copy of Vegas Movie Studio 10. I've upgraded to 12 and no longer use my old software.

Is there any way to transfer the license to another user?

I purchased a 2nd hand copy of Vegas Pro. How would I know if someone previously used it to upgrade to 12?

1) Ask the person you bought it from.
2) Try using the serial number to purchase a discounted upgrade.
3) Call customer service and ask them.
