Lip sync 25fps to 60fps in the middle of song

Hi,

I'm doing a music video that is 3 minutes long. Shooting with my EX1 and I'm in PAL land so I'm shooting in 720/25fps.

Here's what I need. I want the first 132 seconds be lip synced to 30fps slow motion shoot. From 132 to 180 seconds I want the video to slow down to 60fps.

So of course I have to shoot the whole thing overcranked at 60fps and then use the velocity envelope to change the speed of the video to match the music.

So is there anyone with a much better math head to help me out with this one? :D

1) How do I calculate how much I need to speed up the music for each framerate?
2) How do I speed up the music like I would speed up the video using a velocity envelope?
3) How do I calculate how much the music needs to be sped up for 30fps and 60fps?
4) What would be the easiest way to realise this project?

Thanks!

Sami

Too difficult? :D

Can you not divide 30 by 25 and 60 by 25?

I'd do it for you but my slide rule has flat batteries :)

oh bob, helpful like always :)

I can divide 30by25, thats 1.2. And if you divide 60 by 25 thats 2.4.

Is there an easy way to do this in vegas? and im looking for those audio velocity envelopes etc if it can be done?

So is it really as simple as 25/60 = 2.4 * 100 is 240%

??

Well try as hard as I might I can't find anyway to make it any harder and I'm an expert at making it harder :)

There is a simpler way but it's going to sound complex until you grasp the idea.

Change Vegas ruler to Absolute Frames. Your project is at 25fps.

Now change you project to 60fps. The length of you video will now measure a different number of frames. Ctl + Drag the end of your movie so it now is the same number of frames long as it was before. That's it, job done. You will know have you audio at exactly 60fps!

Batteries not required :)

Render out your audio ready for your talent to try to lip sync to. That'll be the hardest part.

Cool! That makes sense and I can do that.

Ok so the big problem is how do I do the "velocity" change for audio? Is this possible in vegas?

So now I need to have the audio to speed up from 120% to 240% starting in the middle of the song. In effect Im trying to emulate ramping and have it lip synced. Any ideas on that one?
