List of supported Drives in CDA 5

I could not locate a list of supported drives for CDA 5 anywhere in Sonic Foundry web page (only the old list for CDA4).

This is critical as I am about to purchase a new CDR.

I am tired of purchasing units that are eventually not compatible.
My candidate was the new Yamaha - but understood from Morad's post it is not fully compatible. Is there a current model that is _guaranteed_ to be fully compatible?

Thank you in advance.

Personal replies are welcome.

Practically any new drive will be compatible, since they all follow the MMC specification. The Yamaha CRW-F1, for example, works just fine. However, CDA5 does not support their AAMQR mode yet, as it is a device-specific setting (we are, however, looking into adding support for this feature).

Thank you for your reply SonicDennis.
I have 2 drives at the moment.
HP 9300 which I bought when my old Yamaha died, only to find it is not supported by CDA 4. This was at the time the software was discontinued. I could not find another supported one, save another HP - 9100, which indeed works fine with CDA4.
My problem is _both_ drives are problematic - although projects end successfully (rendered before the burn), the last tracks – usually after track 10, i.e. usually 40minutes, click (vinyl effect of sorts). I burn a low speed (X2) and my computer is dedicated for this (P4 2GB). I do not want to buy another drive finding it is not compatible…

Just for information, the external HP CD-Writer Plus 7500 (parallel port, write 2x) works fine with CD Architect 5.0, even though this writer is an "old" model.
(However I could not make it work with Nero, for instance).

Please Note: You can burn with the demo. All it costs you is the download. We put this in specifically so you can test your drive. It puts beeps in the audio, but it burns.

This doesn't help with a drive you haven't purchased yet, but like I said, practically any new drive is going to work, since they are all MMC-compliant.
