Is anyone doing live capture with a JVC GZ-H6? I just got the camcorder and I'm trying to do a DIY telecine of Super 8 footage and I'd like to monitor the video as I record.
Doesn't your camcorder have a composite video output that you can connect to a regular monitor?
I think Vegas will capture HDV live over firewire which would also give you a monitor but I've never done this so I cannot say for sure it'd work. The best solution would be HD Rack but you can only get that bundled with Adobe products.
Thanks Bob. I'll try the composite outs. I have to ride the controls a bit on the projector so as long as I can see something live it doesn't matter if I have to record to the camera hard drive first.
I was hoping to do live capture with Vegas or Virtualdub but that looks like a no go with this camera. Excellent picture on this thing though.
Unfortunately, the firewire on this camera does not do that. Live capture/monitor worked with my 4 year old Sony Dv camcorder. The only solution seems to be a TV with HDMI.
