Living in Singapore - Sending video to Norway (Europe)

Ok, i just bought this video camera (JVC GR-DVL320A).
What i plan to do is to film around here in Singapore and then edit in Vegas 3.

So i was wondering, does Singapore follow PAL standard, how about Norway (Europe).

As i dont have a VCR, i need to convert, i plan to bring the finished video editing back to my DV-tape and hopefully some place here in Singapore they can convert it to a VHS tape for me. Would it be any issues?

Or how would i go about it, any tips is welcome.

Judging from a chart ( http://www.spcomms.com/standards.html ) you shouldn't have any problems since both Singapore AND Norway work with PAL standard.

Remember to put at least 10 secs of black or whatever at the start. Never put anything important near the end or beginning of a VHS tape.
From what I gather copying tapes and stuff is something they do really well (and very often) in Singapore.

Thanks alot, i was not aware of the site you suggested.

TorS:
You are from Norge, ikke sant?
I guess you are talking about the much piracy that is here in Singapore?
If so, its less now then it was 3 years ago.

Anyway, where i bought my software (Treasure Production) if im not wrong i think they might do converting from DV tape to VHS, at least they do the other way around, from VHS to DVD/DV if im not wrong, so i dont see any problem for them to convert to VHS.

Their price is very cheap also, S$30-35 for the first 1hr, and then S$25 for the next, i dont think its that bad, concider that aq Sing$ is about 4 krones.

Stavanger.

I was referring to the piracy thing. It may be changing - it should be. But I think some of the countries in what we call the Far East has not signed the international aggreements on copyright that our regulations build on. Either they have no concept of what it's about or they don't care. Rather like some nations' (hint! hint!) attitude to the international court for war crimes, the international ban on land mines etc. Sad story.
