Loading Media : Drag fr MyPics or use Vegas?

Vegas Movie Studio keeps crashing on me. Of course I didnt write down the error message but im wondering if it has something to do with how I am adding my still pics to the project. I am simply dragging them from My Pics onto one of the the video tracks and am NOT using the explorer window that Vegas provides to add media to the project. Could this be the issue? OR alternatively, is there a limit to the number of pics you can add? I am doing a still photo video that when I produced it on MS Photostory, it was 17 min long with 5 secs per pic .... (am now recreating in Vegas so I can burn to a DVD). Is vegas maybe choking on the number of pics? Thanks!

Although I am not sure why you would want to, dragging pictures outside VMS should be no problem. Explorer inside VMS is just a convenience (you choose not to use).

Your problem is probably one of two things: the much discussed photo size - too big - do a search in this forum, keyword photo size or picture size. The other thing depends on your operating system I believe - the 4 gig limit - if you have huge pictures ahhhh what 135 pics......doing math in my head without sufficient coffee you may be exceeding it - do a search, keyword 4 gig limit. Click the search link next to the forums link to search - narrow the search to this forum, these things were discussed recently by Kelly and Scot I think.

gosh - now I can't remember the picture limit in DVDAS - I think you would be okay if you imported it straight into DVDAS rather than VMS - I will have to double check ( an option assuming you aren't modifying or panning, just straight sequence)
