Loading Video from Camera

Using Vegas Movie Studio 8, I cannot get the program to see my
HDR-SR7 HD camera. Do I have the right cable in going from the cradle to the USB port . Is that a IEEE input ? I've used Pinnacle 9 for a long time but this Vegas program is like reading Lower Slabovion instead of English.

Nope, avoid USB for this purpose. USB is not IEEE 1394. Get yourself a firewire cable. Things will be vastly better.

The SR7 is an AVCHD camera, so the guy needs USB, not Firewire. AVCHD cameras don't come with a firewire port.

So, place your camera in its dock, connect it to the PC via the usb cable, and then use Windows Explorer to "mount" the hard drive of the camera and pull out the files you want. Then, you load these files on Vegas manually.
