Locate a dropped frame(s)?

Is there a way to easily and quickly find where dropped frames occurred? I routinely capture 60-80 minutes straight from a GL-1 and while usually I have no problems, occassionally I will have some dropped frames. Nothing really crazy, maybe 9 frames in 60 minutes, and almost always due to a recording issue, whether it be camera or tape.

My current procedure is to either zoom in and look through the audio portion for apparent dropped frames or just edit until I find it. I was hoping there is something I'm missing. Is there some kind of file properties info wherein VV lists the number and location of dropped frames of an event?

If not, does anyone agree that there should be? Thanks.

This brings me to a question I have had for a year or so. Why, when there is device control, is there no automatic retry to recapture the place where the dropped frames occurred? This seems logical, since the software obviously notices it immediately, it is marking (creating) clips and knows exactly where the affected clip starts, so why not just back up, take a running start, and try again a few times. If it fails after, say 6 times, give us the information in an on-screen notice and a printable file detailing the exact location (clip number and time) where the problem(s) occurred. PLEASE!
