i am making a slideshow but some photos are portrait some landscape,when i try to adjust one to fit the screen it mess's up the others. as i have no manual with my downoad i'm just a bit in the dark

Are these photos being imported into Vegas separately, one file per photo? If so, are you using Pan/Crop or Track Motion? Pan/Crop only affects one event so you shouldn't be having this problem. If you're using Track Motion then you should probably be using Pan/Crop instead. If you really do want to use Track Motion then you can insert keyframes. These let you change the settings from one point to the next on the timeline without affecting other points.

On the other hand, i get the idea that you already have a single video file with all the pictures in it and you're importing this one file into Vegas. Is this correct? If so, you've got two options. You can use keyframes as mentioned above with either Pan/Crop or Track Motion. Alternatively you can split the event at the start and end of the picture you want to change, then use Pan/Crop independently on that one photo.
