logging in

Every time I want to login to the forums, it asks me for my new email and obnoxiously unrememberable password (with number and funny character). Every time, I re-enter it and check the little box that says remember it on this pc. It never does.

Is there any way to actually get back to the old state where I could login just by clicking into the Vegas link in my browser?

P.S., I still haven't jumped through the hoops that might get my product registrations back.

You need to register. Then you can just log in by clicking your browser link. Filmy and I were discussing this in another thread, but once you get it done, it's done.

Spot, we had to register just to get back in. What do you mean by "you need to register?" And where's the link to the discussion?

Hey Rex. Sorry to hear that the site isn't working properly for you.

Email me through this form, and it'll send me your cookie info. I'll take a look and see if things are getting set properly.

Also, I'm assuming that you're not clicking "Log Out" before leaving the site - but just had to check.

It's in the Account Activation discussion thread. Moving from computer to computer, it was cutting both Filmy and I out, even after registering, the reclaiming name, and instructing the system to allow cookies/remember me.
That seems to have ended this morning. I know they're still tweaking, maybe that was part of it.

We did have an issue where you would have to log in if you tried to "Remember Me" on two different boxes. It should be fixed now, but you will have to log in at least once more on each box... :/ sorry.

Let me know if you still have any issues.

We found a problem related to logging in and choosing to be remembered on multiple computers. Ryan's working on a fix that he expects to get in place today.

If you're having remember me issues, and only login with one computer, let me know.

The first time I use the site, for the two days since the changeover, it gives me a Sony-generated page saying the forum is unavailable. If I then immediately click again on the same bookmark, the forum comes up. Minor glitch.

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum....

bad pun aside... Today when I clicked on my normal link that takes me into these forums I got a Sony site error message about the "requested page" not existing anymore. My fitst thought was "Oh great - NOW what? I am going to have to do this whole registraiton deal again?" But before I had a full freak out I hit my saved link again and it came up fine - all logged in even. So not sure what that was about.

The basic thing(s) I have figured out with these new changes are these -
1> the "old" passwords do not work anymore.
2> The "old" log in method does not work anymore
3> You need to re-register
4> In order to log in you need to enter your email however the behind the scenes working at Sony forum land may return an error about not having your email in the database - thusly it is an invalid name.
5> You need to re-register
6> Not being able to log in and using the "forgot your password?" option will return an error because the email is not in the database, thusly invalid.
7> Your *need* to re-register
8> If you register again using your email, you know - the one that keeps coming back as invalid, you will amazingly connect to your existing/old account (or at leat you hope it is *your* account) and, without having to do anything, you will get a message saying that there is a user name associated with this email and that it has been assocated with this "new" account.
9> When you first try to re-log in with this "new" account you may get the same error message about your email not being in the database. Don't worry - just try again.

Also... make sure you are not trying to get here by using an old bookmark you had for the forum. I found that I had to re-set my bookmark - otherwise I was getting the issue of having to login each time.
