It all depends...

Are you happy with what you have now? Does it do everything you want / need to do? Do you have some extra money you want to 'get rid' of?

Personally, I usually wait for two versions before upgrading.

Whatever you do, don't upgrade to 9. It lacks much of what sony vegas 7 can do. 8 Pro would be good, but DO NOT DO VEGAS 9!!!!!

Just to be clear, the only "version 9" available right now is Vegas Movie Studio 9 (and VMS Platinum 9). The full / pro version of Vegas is currently at version 8.

nfrancis1: When you say you use Vegas 7 and DVDA 4, are you talking about the "full" version? or the Vegas Movie Studio version?
