Hiyah Rex!

We're On The Road To Wembley! - And we gotta new Stadium too! . . well.. getting there anyway - HAH!

The Video Forum looks like a real doozy! I've just been informed that Discreet Combustion have just signed up too to exhibit. Along with the usual suspects Sony are having the major stand as well.

It'll be a great event. There's a whole bunch of real seminars being held. The BBC will be there conducting teachin's on Location Lighting. AN Arri Lighting Masterclass; Guild of TV Camermen are doing an Importance of White Balance; Sony Pictures and Content AUthoring "DV to DVD Workflow" . . .and . .as they say, lots lots more . . .

Last year the organisors told me that just over 7,000 individuals found their way to Wembley . . .and having attend all 3 days last year, and can agree . . .

Anyways . .those wanting to meet up . .post here or make another post . .

Grazie

A question to Grazie and all other European Vegas users----What seems to be the possible prosumer NLEs in your native countries? Is Vegas readily availible? Do they advertise? In terms of marketing--has Sony done a better job then Sonic did?

Rextilleon,

It's been available in a few shops here in Holland. No advertising etc.. I've posted some stuff and also had an email-conversation with a Japanese Sony guy about it.
Basically, the broadcast-industry here uses either Avid or FCP, and they stick to that in a very sticky way. It's a small broadcast community and I'm trying to convince people to have a look at Vegas, but I've been waiting for Sony to send me the brochure for a few months now..

Video hobbyists: three hands full I guess..
Video pro's: I guess me and maybe someone I don't know. Can't imagine someone using it and not finding his/her way to this forum..

Rex,

Recently my Institute of Videographers held a Poll: “Which of the following is your main non-linear editing program?” – Don’t forget this was their “Main” edit programme. It doesn’t reflect who has more than one or whether individuals use more than one NLE for their purposes.

Responses 287. Memebership is 800 people. Guest and member web sign-ons are around 1400 with around 10 people a day signing on for the Public side of the site. So, this gives you the “exposure” value of the Poll.

Here are the figures:

Premiere ..............49.5%
Final Cut ..............10.1%
Edition ....................9.8%
Other .....................7.7%
Casablanca ...........6.6%
Avid ........................4.2%
Screenplay .............3.5%
Vegas .....................3.1%
Media100 ...............2.1%
MediaStudio ...........1.7%
Edius .....................1.4%
SpeedRazor ...........0.3%

Regards,

Grazie
