Long-time User of Vegas

I am literally at my wits end! I have been using Vegas since all the way back to Sonic Foundry and Sony days. I have always been happy, but right now I am FURIOUS! I have paid my hard earned money for the last two Vegas upgrades, 20 and 22, but BOTH are a nightmare and have messed up my workflow for days now, causing me to have angry clients and poor ratings on the freelance sites I do work for.

Vegas 20 was glitchy, dropped frames, and audio-video sync was never right. SO, I paid even more money and upgraded to Vegas Pro 22...the interface was really cool! I loved the fact that you could choose from various style outputs in 1080--portrait, horizontal, square, traditional and even widescreen. Wow, so simple, I thought! Here's what has thoroughly pissed me off! The audio and video are ALWAYS out of sync no matter which option I choose. I have to ungroup the two and manually sync, then make it a new group to do my editing. If that was the only problem, I could deal with it, but the rendered output, with it's glitches, frame drops, etc. is MADDENING.

After a colossal waste of time and money, I have no choice but to switch to DaVinci Resolve by Black Magic. A friend from a successful podcast studio nearby uses and says he NEVER has problems.

I am really sorry to come across so angry, but this Vegas 20 and 22 issues are ridiculous, especially Vegas 22, which seems like all necessary settings would be in place based on which output format you choose.

Sorry again about my rant. I have just lost a lot of business because of Vegas Pro 20 and 22.

@Mike-Jackson I'm sorry to hear of your experience.

I haven't seen other reports like this (or experienced it myself) so it sounds like an issue with VEGAS struggling to accurately decode the media you are using in 22 leading to errors with the preview that carry over into the render.

Can you share a sample via a file sharing service and MediaInfo for it https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

With your help we can hopefully get VEGAS fixed to work with your media too.

One other idea is to transcode media to known good formats like Apple ProRes or even just regular h264 via a free tool like ShutterEncoder. https://www.shutterencoder.com/

@Mike-Jackson As you are a long time Vegas user, i am truly sorry to hear of this frustrating situation you are currently in..... As i am experiencing none of the many issues you have just described, there is nothing much i can say here now to make your situation any better.

BUT, what i would love for you to do, as RogerS also suggested, is share with us a video file you are working with when having these issues. Because the media you have on the timeline can have a lot to do with some of the problems you are seeing.
