Looking for camera move scripts

stevengotts wrote on 8/20/2005, 10:44 AM
Looking to find the earthquake scripts new home and something that would give me a handheld look to something taped on a tripod. loss of resolution not important because it will be combined with other effects in a music video. camera moves would be a good name for a commercialy available plugin for some entripenarial type out there.
thanks

I think it may have been placed on the VASST site. If not, I could e-mail it to you. Search for "VegasQuake".

We are trying to get Roger's excellent Quake script up on the VASST site. I'm having some difficulty with the upload but it should be there soon.

I tried running two versions of the script in vegas 6 and both failed with errors, and since im not rocket scientest, Ill leave it to those who are to exolain went wrong. lol.
On my hand held move I figured out how it needs to be done, but im not a rocket scientist like I said. I experimented. It would invole setting up a 4 second clip with a series of pan/crop keyframes, both starting and ending in the default setting so it would loop fluidly. Is there a way to save this keyframe pattern as an effect as in Edition? Now the script stuff. a script that would split raw camera footage into 4 or 5 second events and have this pattern or effect applied to all those consecutive events. then could be redered to a new track and ultimate s2 fim look applied. the result should be a hollywood edgy handheld camera moves instead of boring tripod shots. I can use only one arm thus a tripod works best for me. you do not need to pan/crop much ( 5-10 %) to create motion in the camera. now if someone sold such a camera moves plugin. they would want styles ranging from a stableized smooth tv news camera to a hollywood earth quake and edgy styles in between. I would think you filmmakers out their would love it. hollywood effects with hollywood film looks. vegas would really be turning out serious films. Sony should release a dvd of stock movie explosions and smoke and stuff green screened. wow
thanks

The one labeled "(V5)" should have worked in Vegas 6.

Steven, make sure it gets installed in the Script folder for Vegas 6 as it defaults to V5. Then you have to make sure you select the correct one to run. When I go to the Script menu, there are two "Vegas Quake"s in it. One looks like the regular script icon and the other is a stylized Q. This is the one to choose as choosing the regular script icon reports an error. HTH..

ok, Im doing something wrong here. I open a zip file called VegasQuake 1.0_Vegas5.zip , in it I find an installer program called VegasQuake 1.0_Vegas5.exe and defaults to C:\Program Files\Vegas Quake . no matter where I set it to install to it gives me an error message saying it cant find Vegas 5.
thanks

Steven, I didn’t realize the installer checks for Vegas 5. I just sent you a ZIP file in a private email with Vegas Quake already installed. Just place the Vegas Quake directory in that ZIP file under your Script Menu directory in Vegas 6 and it should work fine.
