Looping keyframes?

Is it possible to set a series of keyframes to loop? I'm using Brightness/Contrast and Cookie Cutter to create a flickering effect but the video is a few minutes long and I don't want to have thousands of keyframes. (Even copying/pasting would be a real pain.) Is there a way to set just a few keyframes and have it loop? If not, that would be great for Vegas 7. :-)

I’m afraid not. Cut and paste is the only way unless you want to loop the media as well.

Can you copy and paste the media with the keyframes you have/want and then under each clip replace the media with the rest of the content you want on the timeline? Does that make sense? In other words, copy and paste the segment you have with keyframes and lay it on a track either below or above the footage you want keyframed and make the cuts at the same place as the keyframed clip. Then replace the media with the individual clips. I don't know if this is possible or if it is even helpful... just thought I would throw it out there.

You might experiment with the film effects plugin to see if you can get the same effect. This can be applied to the track with no looping involved.

You can create a mask -- basically, you'd use the brightness and cookie cutter to make a black/white mask, then make multiple copies of the clip. Use it as a parent track; use your clip (without the effects) as the child. Should give you the same flicker effect.

Thanks guys. Using the Flicker effect wouldn't work because I need something more gradual. And I couldn't use a mask on another track because I need more parameters to adjust than just the brightness. I ended up copying and pasting the keyframes for now.

It wasn't as much of a pain as I thought it would be because I just kept reselecting the keyframes as there were more of them. In other words, I created 6 by hand, then copied/pasted them, then selected all 12 and pasted them, then selected all 24, etc. Once I got a large numer selected I just pasted that several times.
