Lost audio in .avi import

Hello great collection of editing orbs...I have a question. The orb says, "Ask the question." Ok, my question is this...

I'm new to Sony Screenblast and am trying to get a project going from a sailing trip I took a few weeks back in Florida. My problem is when I drag the .avi files into the timeline I cannot hear the audio when I play them in preview mode. I know my soundcard is working and the .avi's are ok b/c I played them back in another program. I know I am committing some newbie mistake, just can't figure out what it is. Any help from the great orb would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
Jivedaddy

It's possible you have the sound track muted.
Either on the actual track. On the left after the name of the track is a circle with a slash to click or right click in the blank space beside your preview window and you have a playback volume mute.
Hope it's that easy.

I've checked to the left of the preview window and it seems to be ok. I thought (through reading the manual {yikes}) that when you add a .avi file the audio track should show up under it in the default "voice" timeline, is this right?

I'll go back to reading my manual until I fall asleep...Zzzzzz
