Lost audio upgrading v8 to v9

I've been using Vegas v.8 trial to edit a project. Liked it a lot and bought v.9 to finish it off, now it can't see the audio track from my imported picture files. Sees my music track fine, but no dialogue on track. Envelopes imported fine however.

Is there a setting within VMS or do I have to re-import the original footage. Will this work with the current edits as long as I use the same filenames?

Thanks, Pete

Have you upgraded to the latest version of v9? There are fixes on the latest version.
Also, you don't tell us what kind of format that was, we need to know to be able to help..

Hi there, and thanks for replying. I bought the disk version so it may have updates - i'll check (its build 85 i have).

Actually i have tried re-importing the video (from a Hitachi DVD camcorder) and the audio doesn't import from disk (pictures come in fine). This all worked just fine with my version 8 trial. Version 9 wants to set audio at 44.1KHz, I've reset this to 48 which i believe the audio is recorded at - makes no difference.

I'll look for fixes now.

Can't find any relevant fixes - seems quite a basic thing to get wrong. Have been using the import DVD option from projects.

Not saying this is the same issue, but it's worth a look:

Sounds like exactly the same thing - Thanks a million for finding that.

A couple of people have posted links for fixes - both answers are now unavailable on the website! Hee hee, you gotta laugh.

They also say Sony have promised to fix it in v.9b which I'm downloading as I type.

I just re-loaded my v.8 trial again and all works fine on that.
Thanks again, I'll let post again with my results!

It works! Downloaded v9.0b and all fine so far!

Gerry, thanks for pointing me to the other thread - you were spot on.
Eugenia, thanks a million as well - i guess i didn't look in the right places.

Cheers!
