Lost MS 14.0 Platinum overnight; serial # not accepted on reinstall

I am mid-project. I processed a bunch of videos last night, no problem. This morning, none of my project files would open. My computer could not open Movie Studio 14.0 Platinum. I tried "Admin", I tried re-boot, nothing worked. So I re-installed (hoping it would save my presets), but now the re-install asks for my serial number. When I provide it, it doesn't accept it, like it's dead. I run Windows 11 on an older PC. I have plenty of RAM, and a fast processor.

VMS14 was released by Magix so it's not the Sony Creative Software activation problem.

Try opening with a "factory reset". Instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/

If that doesn't work then it looks rather like a Windows problem. Was your pc switched off overnight or left on? Has anything changed such as Windows updates?

Also what is the message you get when you enter your serial number? Go to your Magix account https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/ and look under My Products for your VMS14 to check you are using the correct serial.

Thanks for the input, EricLNZ. I have several custom settings and 3rd party plug-ins which I CANNOT lose....so I'm contacting a guy who knows my settings to see if he can help me get them back.

My PC is usually on at night, just monitors off. My computer does not reflect any recent updates, only December 18, and I have been using Vegas ALOT since then. It worked last night, and today, it's worthless.

I know the Serial was correct, I verified in my Magix account.

Thanks again. I'll hold out before I attempt a factory reset. This sucks. My DVD software doesn't work either. Everything is broken today.
