lost my Sony audio FX...

Can't imagine what I did but I seem to have lost all of my Sony audio FX. Everyhing else shows up (Cakewalk and Sound Forge FX) but all my Sony FX are gone. I haven't bought the disk since V3, do I have to download and reinstall V5 from my software page or is there something else I should try?
I'm also thinking about going ahead and upgrading but wondering if now is not a good time. I mean if a newer version comes out in 6 months that I could buy for the early bird special price of $200 it wouldn't be a smart buy right? Plus it doesn't seem to be a big upgrade for me since I still shoot SD...what do yall think?
Thanks,
Randy

Cant think of another fix other than a new install-download,as far as upgrade ,,8 has been out a long time and even though it is still being tweaked . at this point with sd I would certainly wait,,don't think you are missing much for sd other than the blue media line up thing which came out in 6 or 7 I think.

Too late my friend I went ahead and upgraded...but can you elaborate on the blue media line up thing?
Thanks,
Randy

Story of my life late again
on second thought 8 does a ton of things that 5 didn't!!!
The blue line is an addition to the snapping tool , when you line up footage you will see what I am refering to... small gadget but very useful to me
good luck and i am sure you will find additions to help your workflow

You're right, I'm not even halfway through the manual (very cool in itself) and I can already see there are some features that will expedite my workflow. Besides the new snappy snapping features I'll also be using Paste insert, command markers, Nesting, and Media Manager...BTW, I remember complaints here about the Media Manager, have those issues been resolved? I didn't install it yet but I don't remember having the option while installing V8.
Thanks,
Randy
