Lost proxies

I opened a project I worked on a month ago, and it was playing back in awful quality and slow. I looked in Project Media and saw no proxies, though I'm sure I made a proxy for each file. So I somehow lost my proxies.

But when I go to the project window and right click on an MP4 file, there's no option for creating proxies. I guess Vegas thinks I already made some too.

Is there a way to find my proxies hidden somewhere on my hard discs? Or a way to trick Vegas into letting me make some again?

Proxies are not shown in Project Media. Depending on the setting of your preview, the proxies are used or the original files are used. Make sure your preview is NOT set to good or best, because then the originals are used instead of the proxies.
