I'm constructing a lower third consisting of a simple gradient background and text. This will appear on a widescreen DVD. Should I adhere to the title and action safe areas when placing my text? In other words, when I look at my background gradient on the preview window, should it bleed off/outside the safe areas and if so, that will cause my text to be positioned too high vertically within the background if the safe areas are not an issue. Does my question make sense?
