Lucent Chipset Firewire Cards

I was wondering if the Lucent FW323 chipset is as reliable as the Texas Instruments cards (ADS, Orange,etc...)? Even though the Card im looking at is OHCI compliant, I dont want to run into problems like i did with VIA chipset cards.

Stay away from the Lucent like the plague---TI is the only way to go.

I've used a couple of the Lucent cards, and they both worked fine. Dont know if they used the chipset you specified, though.

I've been having problems with dropped frames during capture, and I just noticed that my Firewire card uses the Lucent FW323 chipset.

Can I ask for more details on why the TI chipset is superior to the Lucent one? Any references to comparative reviews?
