Try the Glint FX, try Show Effect Only. If you've got more than one camera you can make it look pretty funky. It'd get tedious of done for long but thankfully in my case strobe only on for a few seconds.

Footage not shot by me and not on EX, just cheap AVCHD cameras, one of them lost the plot and went out of focus but I used that as a background.
