M2TS in 1920x1080 with DD5.1

I have a M2TS file that is encoded as AVCHD in 1920x1080 25mpbs, and includes DD5.1 audio.
I am Using Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0
I pull the file into the program with no problem. I even see the 5.1 audio and am able to adjust the Front l/r Center, Rear, & LFE channels with no problem.

However... when I "Make Movie" and try to create a MPG-2 HD file or a MPG-4 HD file in 1920x1080... It LOSES ALL audio. The video comes out just fine. However there is absolutely no audio. No DD5.1.

It doesn't matter if which file type I try to create. No audio.

I am trying to create these files in this format. As my TIVO HD/S3 DVR is capable of playing HD MPG2 files as well as HD MPG4 files. It is fully capable of playing 1920x1080 DD5.1 in either format.
Since I also have a 18TB NAS... Using Blu-Ray is now pointless. ;)

Thanks for any help you can provide

Gary

P.S. I can easily rename these M2TS files to MP4 and they will transfer and play on my TiVo without any problems. Just I would like to edit about 20 to 30 of these 5 to 10 minute M2TS files together to form one main MPG2/HD or MPG4/HD file and still maintain DD5.1

Please feel free to email me or ask me any other additional information.
