Doesn't Matter. I've decided to go for the Canopus box.

I own a Canopus ADVC-100, and I am completely satisfied. It produces great conversions going both ways, with clean, well defined edges, good color fidelity, and none of the pixilation and conversion artifacts I have seen in other converters.

At $299, it is only about $20 more than the Dazzle Hollywood Bridge, and there is simply no comparison, when you look at quality, performance, and warranty.

I understand that Canopus has just introduced it's little brother, the ADVC-50, at a price of $199. I have not talked to anyone who owns one, and I don't know what you give up for the lower price. If it works like it's big brother, it will be the bargain of the year!

I think the advc-50 is a pci card that fits internally, rather than a stand-alone box.

Anyway, the advc-100 has been ordered now.
